Wayland to Waveland’s
‘Mission to Mississippi’
Day 88 -- Week 13

FRIDAY, JAN. 11, 2008 – WAVELAND, MA

Hi everyone,
Today was a perfect 10 for Mississippi weather. It was cool in the morning, warm and comfortable during the afternoon--a perfect day to clean and scrub houses on Combel St. Washing the floors, cleaning the sills, washing the tubs. I even flushed a real toilet in 3 of our houses. We stocked the bathrooms with soap and tissues. It is so exciting to know taht we are almost finished with construction.

The remaining tasks on Combel St. include installing the electric outlets, light fixtures, hooking up the stoves and installing the mailboxes. We changed the locks today and made up key sets for our families. This will be repeated during the next 3 days on Maple and Taranto.

We also finished putting together the two swing sets – a gift from Child Life.

Maple and Taranto will be hydroseeded tomorrow and the Lape family is bringing homemade gumbo for lunch. This is a family helped by our electricians and plumbers earlier in the project and they want to thank us with lunch.

People here continue to show us such appreciation. Thank you all for your continued support. You should all be proud of your participation.
Cindy
