Wayland to Waveland’s
‘Mission to Mississippi’
Day 79 -- Week 12

WEDNESDAY, JAN. 2, 2008 – WAVELAND, MA

Hi Everyone,

Boy is it cold down here--I don't think the temperature reached 45 degrees today.

For most of the 20 new arrivals, the work was inside work, spackling, filling holes and priming to get ready for painting tomorrow.

James, Gabe and Stephen worked on Maple Street grading and setting the properties up for the 37 Boston College volunteers arriving on Friday. Once again, it is truly special to be part of this project.

The houses are beginning to look like "homes" and all the families are getting excited about discovering which house is theirs. We continue to fundraise and are getting closer to our $1.6 million dollar goal. Thanks to all who have contributed. This is such a widespread effort with donations coming form as far away as Chicago. Please continue to tell your friends and family to view the website--www.missiontomississippi.org.

We also did a "live" broadcast with WAYCAM which will be aired next week. Thank you Betsy (Moyer, show host and WAYCAM Chair) and Jim (Mullane, station manager) for your interest.

Pictures will be up on the web tomorrow.

Cindy
