Wayland to Waveland’s
‘Mission to Mississippi’
Day 45 -- Start Week 7

THURSDAY, NOV. 29, 2007 – WAVELAND, MA

Hi everyone,
Another incredible day. Two of the father son teams taped the 4 houses on Combel St. with their second coat while the rest of the team moved to Maple and Taranto Streets. Two more houses are totally boarded and drywallingthe remaining two will be completed by tomorrow. Incredible! The houses now have dimension and shape and you can really visualize the layouts. I never realized how heavy drywall is as I "scrapped out" the houses throwing the debris into our huge dumpsters. We interviewed two more families today and hope that they qualify with the bank. Each one had stories about their Katrina experience. Even being here and seeing first hand what happened, I can't believe the courage and fortitude these brave families endured.

Our two carpenters installed one of the sliders and will return tomorrow to continue their work. Fernando and Fabrizio also lost everything during Katrina and lived for 4 months with 10 other friends in a two room unit after the storm. I can't say I could have stayed living in those conditions.

Thank you again for all you continue to do for this project. The planning and execution so far have been flawless.
Sincerely,
Cindy
