Wayland to Waveland’s
‘Mission to Mississippi’
Day 25 -- End Week 3

FRIDAY, NOV. 9, 2007 – WAVELAND, MA

Greetings from Waveland! More progress was made today and the houses look beautiful! The crews have been working hard at the Maple and Taranto Street sites, installing the railings and deck posts on the front porches and back decks. You can really start to imagine a brand new neighborhood sprouting up.

The meals to feed this hungry gang have been delicious, and we’ve been promised a culminating meal of chicken and sausage gumbo, a must on any visit to the Gulf Coast! Thanks also for the strong support of Middlesex Savings Bank and Village Bank, whose banners are flying proudly on 2 of the houses.

In addition, the Waveland Water Department has been working diligently on all three locations to lay the water lines. Yesterday we had lengthy visits from three of our families, who helped clean the job sites, move around materials, and meet this week’s crews. Their excitement and gratitude are overflowing.
