Wayland to Waveland’s
‘Mission to Mississippi’
Day 23 -- Week 3
WEDNESDAY, NOV. 7, 2007 – WAVELAND, MA
Once again the beautiful weather cooperated and we were able to accomplish a lot, so much that we’re ahead of schedule! We even made the newspaper here with an article and photo printed about our project in the Sea Coat Echo (visit www.seacoastecho.com).
The guys from Crocker Roofing in Worcester did an awesome job and installed all the roofs on our 8 homes with time to spare. So to keep the momentum going, Sean and his crew helped out a neighbor and roofed his house as well!
Not to be out-paced, the carpenters, including OD Woodworking, Miley Construction, LHS, Hardy Pros, Kearns Construction, SEA Carpentry, Kenneth Vona Construction, S.P. Vona, and several self-employed carpenters, worked non-stop and completed the siding and exterior trim work on 6 of the houses.
The local Mississippi HVAC guys arrived yesterday and are working on Combel Ave today and will move on to the other 4 houses later this week.
Today is turnover day, and we’re sad to see the Week 3 team leave but excited for a new group to arrive. The few volunteers who are still here today are unloading the 18 wheeler which arrived this morning with yet more supplies for all the work to come.
Another huge thank you goes to all the people who traveled to Waveland for Week 3 and the companies who donated their employees’ time and skills.
